Bridgeport in the Winter

Visiting Bridgeport in the winter will open your eyes to a whole new world.  With snow covered mountains, frozen lakes and creeks and some of the most beautiful terrain you have ever seen, Bridgeport is sure to have what you need during your winter getaway.  Enjoy relaxing, snow shoeing, snow mobiling, cross country and back country skiing, sledding, ice skating and much more.

Bridgeport offers different options for lodging during the Winter months.  You can stay at one of the motels here on Main street, a cozy cabin by the lake or a cabin on the creek.  There are year round dining and shopping options available also.  Scroll Down for more details.  There is an ice skating rink on the south side of town, a sledding hill across the street and tons of cross country and snow mobiling options by Twin Lakes, Aurora Canyon and many other areas.  Check with the Bridgeport Ranger District Office for more information, conditions and permit information.  Remember conditions in the Sierra can change fast, be sure to be safe, contact the local government agencies for current conditions, rules and regulations and make sure to keep an emergency kit with you and let someone know where you are going and when you will be back.
